Ben Curtis has spent his career at the intersection of academia and public policy. Previously, he was the Research Director in the Centre for International Education with the UK’s National Foundation for Educational Research, and a Senior Advisor with the Behavioural Insights Team, the world’s first governmental unit dedicated to applying behavioural science to public policy. He has led multiple projects with the UK’s Department for Education and Department for International Development, and worked with the United Nations Development Programme as well as major international NGOs. For more than a decade he was a professor at Seattle University, where he taught global politics and policy and founded the university’s Poverty Education Center.
